DBI is a family-owned company founded in 1937 as one of the first manufacturers of plastics in Denmark.
We are headquartered in Stenmagle, Denmark with regional offices located in Europe, North America and China. Serving production across the globe, we currently deliver products to more than 50 countries including production and assembly facilities in Denmark, Poland and China.
Purpose of the Role
As Sales Manager at DBI, you will play a central role in driving our commercial success and supporting our transformation into a data-driven, customer-centric organization. You will lead by example - actively engaging your team of 7 account managers in sales activities while coaching and developing your team.
This is a “playing coach” role, combining hands-on sales execution with people leadership to ensure both immediate results and long-term growth.
A key part of your mission will be to lead the transition from a product-oriented sales model to an application-driven approach, where customer needs and use cases define the value we deliver.
Key Responsibilities
- Sales Leadership: Lead and inspire the sales team to achieve ambitious targets. Set the tone through your own performance in customer engagement, deal-making, and pipeline development.
- Application-Focused Selling: Champion a shift in mindset and practice - from selling products to delivering tailored application-based solutions that solve real customer challenges.
- Customer Development: Build and maintain strong relationships with key accounts. Understand customer needs and translate them into tailored solutions that deliver measurable value.
- Digital Sales Enablement: Drive adoption of CRM, e-commerce, EDI and AI-assisted pricing tools to enhance efficiency and customer experience.
- Playing Coach Execution: Actively participate in sales calls, negotiations, and account planning. Provide real-time coaching and feedback to team members.
- Market Intelligence & Insights: Monitor market trends and customer feedback to inform sales tactics and identify new opportunities.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with Market Intelligence, Technology, Marketing, Customer Service, and Operations to deliver seamless, end-to-end customer solutions.
- Coordination with your peers in US and China on global account
Qualifications & Experience
- Proven success in B2B sales, ideally in plastics, manufacturing, or industrial sectors.
- Experience leading teams in a “playing coach” capacity.
- Demonstrated ability to drive a shift from product to application-based selling.
- Familiarity with digital sales tools and platforms.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Fluent in English and Danish
- +10 years of experience as a sales manager
Expectations
- +70 days of travel in Europe
- Reports to Managing Director
- On-site presence at the head office in Stenmagle
